June 27, 2023 - The wine cork was loose but believe it or not, there had been no noticeable leakage. The color was a brown/golden.and clear after a simple wire filtration. The wine was sweet, but not cloying in any way. There were lovely almond, flan and citrus flavors with a slight tart character on swallowing. The aftertaste was exceedingly long, with citrus and flan flavors. Balance throughout was wonderful. With a well maintained cork and proper storage conditions, the wine should live a lovely life for another decade or two.
My favorite German winery and vineyard come through again!! Now I am sad...no more bottles left; but it made a super showing at our Daughter's 40th Birthday celebration. -

March 1, 2013 - Tasting and dinner with old wines from Kloster Eberbach (Kloster Eberbach, Rheingau): Golden colour. Nose with some dried yellow fruit, caramel, smoke, some herbaceous notes. The palate is sweet, very spice, with dried fruit, very high acidity, some spice, mineral and a very long aftertaste. Not as generous aromas as the two other 1983 Riesling Eiswein of this flight, but very fresh! 93 p
