  • retired_and_roving Does not like this wine:

June 10, 2020 - Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Popped and poured this as a follow up to the Baudry Rosé and what a jarring transition from acid driven rosé to bruising '07 Napa cab. Similar to my prior experience this is a bit clunky lots of extracted dark fruit and heat from the alcohol. Last time we decanted this time we didn't. Either way - one glass was enough and the rest went down the sink. Last of the bunch and not sad to see them go.

January 19, 2020 - Decanted for two hours. Served alongside the '09 Larkmead Firebelle - this wine came across less refined. Dark berries and a bit of alcohol on the nose. On the palate this is mature, black and blue berry fruit, with some dried leaves but the heat on the finish just pushes it a bit too much.

July 11, 2017 - This has really benefited from cellar time. Still tannic, but softer and balanced.

September 18, 2011 - Not as approachable as most of the '07 cabs I've tried so far. Good structure, but tannins still need time to soften. Oak and leather notes are prominent.
