Community Tasting Notes 12

November 19, 2011 - Deep golden colour like an Auslese but with a brown tinge. Nose was pretty muted. Based on these two facts I figured it was going to be dead. However, it actually still had a fair amount of life. Typical minerals of a Sauvignon Blanc, hints of fruit with some maderized flavours and what I felt was a rootbeer like flavour towards the finish. A decent amount of acidity gave it energy. Very interesting to drink though not as fresh and bright as a 1998 we tried a few weeks ago.

October 6, 2007 - Sadly my last bottle. Still as good as I rememebered it 6 years ago. Fruit and acid still in balance.

December 13, 2001 - A private dinner (Restaurant Châlet Royal *, Den Bosch, Netherlands): Intense SB, slightly less explosive and more mature than last year, vegetal and balanced, blackcurrant finish.
