April 22, 2019 - Golden colour, gingery nose, rich and opulent, medium sweet now but in great condition. Very nice and fully mature but holding well.

January 1, 2016 - A half bottle on New Year's Eve. Powerful and gingery nose with a touch of lychee. Rich, full gingery flavour of medium sweetness. Quite opulent. Not as sweet or intense as I'd hoped it would be. I think while still very drinkable this has now passed its peak and is a little on the down slope. I have 3 more, try another soon. 91-92 points.

February 25, 2015 - Dinner at Red Star (Red Star Restaurant): A sweet ending to a nice night. The nose was classic Gewurztraminer, with lychees and flower and spice touched with a noble honeyed glow. There was a whiff of something rubbery in there that I could not quite place my finger on, but otherwise a really nice bouquet. The palate had the sweet, rich unctuousness that one would expect on a good SGN, but all this was nicely balanced by well-integrated acidity. There was a really nice range of flavours too, with subtle pear notes underlying more dominant lychee tones, then a nice sprinkle of osmanthus flowers and a lift of jasmine tea as the wine moved beyond the midpalate and into a long finish flushed with Gewurztraminer spice and lovely mineral notes. Yum. Really nice and drinking quite beautifully now.

September 19, 2014 - Honey, flowers, powdered sugar nose. Unctuous palate with nutmeg and flowers which begins sweet but turns progressively drier as it persists. Peculiar, and disarming disconnect between the nose and palate, but an excellent cheese wine, if not exactly a luscious sticky.
