January 20, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: Quite a generic CDB red with rustic red fruit.

November 10, 2022 - Surprisingly firm and unyielding. Hard to say why and perhaps not a representative bottle.

July 13, 2021 - Lafarge's most underrated cuvée. Deep, pure, mineral red fruits with an overlay in the nose of slight Pinot stink. Medium-weight and silky. Lovely bottle. Cellared since original release.

    April 1, 2018 - Mildly corked.

August 5, 2016 - Popped and poured, then followed for four hours. Medium ruby hue. Slowly building nose which ultimately yielded billows of blackberry, musk, feral plum, and hyacinth, with hints of cayenne and moca. Two hours in, the palate began to exhibit brambly red fruit cut with velvet and earth, hearty yet anchored in iron and rock. Nicely acidic with smoothed off tannin. Long, echoing finish of underbrush, mulberry, ferrous notes, and subtle grip. Oh yeah, when I think of Beaune, I think of this.
