January 2, 2023 - Beautifully balanced with an aroma of pepper and old cigar boxes but ever so slightly sweet , visually has apparent clarity of a Pinot noir, very slightly browning on the meniscus. On the palate a touch of chocolate and cherries, an elegancy of tannin provides a delightfully long finish. A very well made wine that has aged accordingly

March 23, 2021 - Stored in cold cellar since release. Cork broke. Fill just under cork. Entrancing bouquet. Pale red. Restrained, faded but complete. Lovely old Barrosa. Perfect aged gentleman or lady! A style of wine that some would dislike.

September 25, 2019 - Probably just down a little too long. Red fruit on the nose quickly became leather and tobacco. Cherry, pepper and caramelised blood orange with leathery, boot polish after taste. Cork disintegrated but in good condition regardless. The window is closing but still very enjoyable.

January 13, 2018 - Medium bodied, dark garnet in colour. Dark juicy berries, almonds and dry fresh cut wood on the nose — it initially smells like a big dark red. After pulling out a perfect cork, I was hit by strong peppery aromas out of the neck of the bottle. Preparing for a dark, rich wine, we were pleasantly surprised by a very light dry red. Small and rounded flavour, very little tanin. Very narrow oxidation window for drinking; best enjoyed in small glasses. Initially very alcoholic on the nose with a fresh pour, it's very good after a minute of air in the glass; but after 5-10 minutes the subtle and complex tobacco and liquorice flavours start to dominate and overpower as it oxidises very fast. The bottle notes that it should be cellared 15-20 years, which leads us to think this has been down a few years too long. Still very enjoyable though.

September 14, 2013 - Nice round soft tannins with field berry flavors. Fading but still very good. Drink now.
