January 27, 2016 - Nose - syrupy nose, black cherries/cassis, kirsch on top of iodine and earth note.
Palate - rich, full bodied, hefty wine, touch hot, lacks complexity for me

June 14, 2011 - A little disapointing at 1st as the oak was very much present. It took me by surprise as I usually never find Fourrier wines to be overly oaked (I believe there's only 20% new oak).
Underneath there's a very nice stream of red fruit with plenty of cherry and strawberry. Still a masculine wine, decent acidity with a long finish. Fortunately the oak is less evident the longer the wine is open but at the end I thought this bottle was lacking the focus usually present in Fourrier's wines.

October 17, 2010 - Cork fully soaked and leaky but this, my last bottle, was a good one. Now showing more development, with minerally "hot race track" notes and sous bois but still with lovely pure red cherry fruit underneath. The palate shows reasonable depth and concentration for a village wine and there is lovely, fresh acidity with just a little firm tannin starting to poke through on the tail end - suggesting it maybe time to start drinking up.

April 19, 2010 - Drunk over a span of about one and a half hours. This is fairly resolved but muted, especially in the first half-hour after opening. What's immediate and enjoyable is the meaty, gamey element of good Gevrey, coupled with sous-bois notes and cherry kirsch. There is a touch of warmth on the backend - a characteristic I have found in several wines from the vintage - that would likely be undetectable were the fruit richer and more forthright. Reddish soil notes and dried saucisson elements emerge, as well as a bit of gout de merde, and the fruit darkens up a bit but always remains tantalizingly in the background. Most impressive is the finish, where the fruit elements finally push through to the fore and echo with persistence. Overall a nice effort, especially for this vintage and at this level.
