October 6, 2012 - The deep golden color foretold this was not a common Pinot Gris. Light on the nose, the 15.4% abv is only slightly revealed. A full and luscious mouthful, light honey melon at mid mouth. Soft and smooth, no citrus or bitterness.

Will go very well with oysters or quiche. I intend to serve this with a shrimp salad at brunch in 2 weeks, thus the sampling. Overall, a very good wine for the price. Likely best when it is warmer, not on the first day of snow in Denver.

July 31, 2012 - Medium yellow in color, slow dropping legs, coming in at 15.4% abv. This wine is made in the richer Alsatian style. The nose is med(+) intensity, showing slightly oxidized pear and green apple, with a background of lillies and gravel. The palate shows a dry wine with med(+) body, med(-) oak tannins, and med(-) acidity. The fruits echo from the nose, with fully ripened pear and apple, some peppery spice, and a gravelly minerality on the med(+) finish, where the alcohol pokes through a bit, and the acid is not quite where it should be. A very nice effort overall, should drink well for another 1-2 years.

May 8, 2012 - It was hot, but excellent minerality.

September 4, 2011 - My last from a case. Even with my $13 auction price, I'm glad to see these go. And while many of my guests really enjoyed this, I could never wrap my arms around the concept of a 15,4% abv Pinot Gris.

August 14, 2011 - Consistent notes; poor. Over the top.
