Community Tasting Notes 8

January 2, 2014 - Ehhh...very bored with this wine, even for the price point on a Wed night. Not bad or offensive, just very boring.

August 26, 2012 - Wasn't as bad as I was expecting after reading previous reviews. Perhaps a touch unbalanced, but not desperately so. My bottle had some decent fruit and secondary notes. I'm not sure it would get any better in the cellar, but it was fine for sipping with assorted apps and by itself before dinner.

Update: Coming together nicely after dinner. Alcohol is much more integrated and it's silky smooth. I'd go 87 points on the last glass.

March 22, 2012 - Blackberry nose with some herbal notes of sage. Taste is underwhelming and poorly balanced, completely burying the fruit under layers of austere acidity, mealy tannins and a slight bitter tone towards the end. The only interesting thing about this, is its quite distinctive minerality. Totally overrated.

    February 25, 2012 - Weak

December 3, 2011 - not much on the nose but nice palate of fruit blackberries, some cherry and sage with medium length soft tannin finish and pleasant minerality. For an under $10 wine this is one for every day drinking and so far undervalued, but then again I love Rhone wines for every day.
