September 27, 2008 - Great richness of fruit for the vintage -- sweet, dark, and deep with nothing of the stewed character or hollowness that plagues many other '97s. Unfortunately the oak is dominant here, and while it's a classy French oak flavor it seems like it'll be awhile before anything besides fruit and oak pokes through.
