June 17, 2023 - Wine Bros: Australia Part II (Orsay): Generally professed as the favorite red of the dinner (mine was the 01 707 but everyone has a style). This was quite nice and still going strong although perhaps more in drinking window than its brother in arms the 2004 Burge Family Grenache which was served alongside. This was a lot of floral notes. Bright and classic. There’s intensity to it but it does drink well.

April 1, 2020 - Still good. Muted fruit after, medium body. Past prime but always a fave.

October 29, 2019 - Decanted one hour and it continued to improve in the glass over the course of the night. This is a blockbuster with many years ahead which is unusual for a new world grenache. The nose is a pretty plum with some earthy notes. The palate is bursting with silky ripe fruit flavors of black currants, plums and blackberries. As the wine opens in the glass some earthy flavors come into the picture with modest spices adds some complexity The wine is well structured and integrated although I suspect at earlier ages this might have felt a bit overdone. I think this will get better, adding complexity with time.
