Community Tasting Notes 18

  • zovizule Likes this wine:

November 21, 2014 - This bottle was still really good - dark fruit, slightly rustic, good rhone funk - pretty great for a 13 year old CdR

February 15, 2010 - A touch of volatile acidity on the nose goes with faint notes of oxidation. This is a soft wine now, without much complexity, and evidently on its way down hill. A wine like this should really last this long, but it does not seem to have made it all in one piece. A bit disappointing...

    May 18, 2009 - Corked.

November 15, 2008 - This seems to be aging reasonably well, with some secondary flavors emerging as the almost thick primary character of the fruit subsides a bit. This also shows its slightly high alcohol a bit more than it did. The wine is not gaining any more finesse, but it might be best to resample this in a couple of years to see how the transformation completes itself...

February 2, 2008 - Lovely. Nice funky rhone nose on opening. Still quite ripe dark fruit with an overlay of fine tannins.
