August 13, 2023 - Decanted for 8 hours. Fruit has been lost and alcohol is on the forefront. Past prime for my taste. Should have drank earlier.

January 11, 2023 - A 2007 Dow preceded this. Cork was near perfect and that pleased me. Stained medium magenta. Wonderful balance and fruit nicely present and pleasant. Nicely evolved also but my biggest like was the quality and presence of fruit. Sometimes I wonder when reviewers use 'nicely evolved,' they are really saying fruit dropped off. That not the case here. Last time I had this was in 2015, and I said it needed a few hours to open. Today it hit its stride in about 1/2 hour. Great example of what an aged cabernet should taste like. It seems to have its own profile. Its not like Dominus, Beringer, or Shafer, but it seems to somehow have elements of each. Not heavy or tongue coating, just really nice. Like the Dow, this invited the next sip. Feels well made, and while not the top shelf of California cabs, this fits respectfully among the best of mid level cabs. Recommended. I prefer that you drink this sooner than later so as to enjoy the fruit at this stage, but I wouldn't frown at you if you aged a bit more.

December 28, 2022 - At this stage the rich dark fruits are starting to turn a little bit more toward dried black fig and dried plumb. Still luscious and very enjoyable. I recommend drinking up soon as I doubt this will improve with additional age. Still balanced and with good acidity to temper the bold ripe fruit and now fully integrated tannins.
