Bon rapport QP. -

March 15, 2013 - A very smooth, easy drinking wine, with no acidity at all in the palate, though the finish was rather short. Interesting taste and aroma, hints of sea salt, limestone, bacon(?), and fresh red currants. Colour of the wine was brownish, but still youthful. My understanding is that this wine has no sulphites, and the wine was sealed with wax, how cool is that? After about 2 hours, the wine started to fade.

June 30, 2012 - A: scented wood, cherry, plum, hint of mint, mineral and raisin
M: still-sharp acidity, medium body, medium finish
don't think it's balanced, as the acidity dominated. -

May 24, 2012 - Lunch at Absinthe (Absinthe, Bukit Pasoh): This was positively the most Burgundian Bordeaux I have ever had. It tasted for all the world like a wine that came from the Cote Chalonnaise or maybe even a particularly earthy Cru Beaujolais. I liked it though. The nose had a whiff of something bretty to it, with barnyardy, animale scents at the fore, and then earthy, spicy, meaty nuances piled on a deeper layer of sweeter blackberry aromas. The palate was where the Burgundy doppleganger aspects really came out. It was clean, clear and high-toned, much more so than you would expect a Bordeaux, whether left or right-bank to be, with lithe, light-bodied and pretty pure flavours of cassis and juicy blackberries gently seasoned with some spice, leather and meat. All very elegant and very silky, but still with enough depth to pair well with a nice sirloin steak. The nicely length finish had black and red fruits dancing around some barnyardy accents, a hint of flowers and more mineral inflections. Pretty good, but very confusing. As befitting the vintage, this was actually quite ready to drink even now.

April 26, 2012 - Millésime 2007 oblige, il s'agit du Château Le Puy le plus tendre que j'ai dégusté. On dirait presque un bon cru du Beaujolais! Notes de fruits, animales, de poivron vert. Tanins tendres. À boire chambré. Meilleur que le 2006.
