March 20, 2015 - Strong nose of cherry cola, wet clay, dark chocolate, and hints of violets. Cherry cola palate, which deepens and becomes surrounded by hints of violets and allspice. Prolonged finish of cherry cola and baking spices. Not quite as good as the 2011 and 2010 vintages of Ludovicus, but still a ridiculously good value.

October 16, 2012 - Somewhat musty alcoholic nose which after aeration becomes fruity. Slightly fruity flavor gives way to smoky, intense zesty/spicy mouthfeel with a mouth-watering, tart aftertaste. More tart cherry flavor the next day.
