Community Tasting Notes 7

  • Ms. Bubblehead Likes this wine:

September 18, 2018 - White flowers, reductive and modest lemon zest on the nose, overall a bit quiet. On the palate, it showed good concentration of white fruits, citrus, modest spices and good acidity. Don’t think it perform the best that night.

September 17, 2018 - Some reduction and shut nose. Concentrated ripe fruits on the palate, nice acidity and balance. Impressed by the intensity

September 17, 2018 - The nose was not showing much tonight. Showed some ripeness on the palate with good amount of acidity. Good balance between these two components. Very precise with integrating oak. The precision was awesome. Vadots reductive wine making style probably lifted the ripe vintage. Love the intensity of this wine. 92-93

April 3, 2015 - An attractive and expressive nose of buttered apples, pear, toasted hazelnut and a deft framing of new oak are followed by a wine of lovely balance, with zesty acidity for the vintage and really very good concentration and depth. I didn't get all that strong a sense that this was Les Genevrières in particular rather than Meursault in general, but this was certainly very creditable and the domaine is clearly one to watch—although unfortunately everyone is already watching.

July 16, 2014 - A taste of Coche-Dury (Angler, City of London): In as a ringer, but I didn't really see the likeness to Coche - pale, powder, fine, young Genevrieres
