Community Tasting Notes 9

August 17, 2012 - Popped and poured. Color ruby brick. Nose showing cherry pie spice and whiff of iodine and benefitted from vinturi. Swishing shows acid salinity and some light tannin. Sipping shows soft cherry fruit. Finish is very light cherry and a bit short.

January 20, 2012 - Some Pinot notes. A little gritty

January 19, 2012 - Excellent. Somewhat between German Pinot and Burgundy. Minerals and a bit of spice, this has a few more years to go. Great in the depths of winter.

July 26, 2011 - Started below average. Improved over a few hours, but only slightly. Enjoy other varieties from this vineyard so was disappointed with this one.

    (J. Hofstätter Meczan Pinot Nero Blauburgunder) Dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; brett, tart red fruit, mineral nose; tight, tart red fruit, mineral, smoke palate that lacks charm, tastes more like Spatburgunder than any other Pinot; medium finish
