April 18, 2023 - Improved from the last bottle.

The color in the glass is lighter than what I am used to with Syrah. More of a ruby red than a midnight burgundy.

The petrichor and blueberries maintain their dominance, but now distinct notes of vanilla and mild cherry show up mid-palate, and the finish is a touch chalkier and less acerbic.

I'm curious how this vintage would fare in another year or two, but sadly it's my last bottle.

October 6, 2022 - Aromas of blueberries and loamy petrichor. There's a pleasing tartness on the end with a touch of white pepper.
    Went nicely with our steaks.

March 29, 2022 - Much better than previous bottle. Lacks to off-putting acetone. Good density, not over ripe, balancing acidity. Good now and for a couple more years. A good value at $12.

January 14, 2022 - Not a bad wine, but has a noticeable hint of acetone, and feels stronger than the 14.2%. Has some okay fruit - a little peppery, but also feels hollow. Not sure this will ever be better.

December 27, 2021 - I like it but I'm not in love with it. Fruit and sour berry in a pleasing ratio. Not heavy, not light. Good balance and structure, whatever that means.

This is the type of red wine that does nice things when you add a drop of decent blanco tequila to it. Haven't figured out what a good sweetener is for that combo, but I'm sure there's something out there that would be perfect.

There are some Rhone style wines that are too precious for that, but this isn't quite there. But not bad.
