March 2, 2024 - A matter of taste 2024 (Kongresshalle, Zürich): *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory ***
    Glass: Stölzle Universal
Beautiful, complex Barolo from a very good vintage. Beautiful clear fruit, tension, energy and structure. Nice. 94+

January 19, 2024 - Blinds w/ Jenny's supper club (Jenny's): (blind) Light skin. Ruby with a garnet rim. High alcohol. High tannin. Bitter. Lovely floral strawberry cherry.

    Med plus acid. 14.5% alcohol.

    Called: Barolo
    - Chianti, brunello would have a higher acid-to-tannin ratio
    - Barbaresco vs. Barolo - I don't know that I could tell.

    Actual: Barolo.

January 1, 2024 - (tasted blind) Wild strawberry, sweet tobacco, orange, mint, and wild herb character on the nose. Juicy strawberries, orange zest and herbs on the palate with a strong savory prosciutto finish. It's exuberant and lively but still refined. Definitely too young right now, would love to try it again in 8+ years.

January 1, 2024 - Tasted blind. On nose, wild peppery herbs, wild red fruit, black pepper, violets, iodine, orange peel. On palate red, black and blue fruit. Tannin through the roof. Because of all the pepper, I guessed this to be an elegant cool climate New World Syrah (but entertained possibility of Barolo given color and tannin). This is nowhere near ready to drink.

November 4, 2023 - 2019 Barolo Tasting (K&L): Very plush, very fruity, and very approachable. Clearly modern, especially in contrast with the 2019 Azelia Bricco Fiasco.
