February 17, 2023 - This is good. Just a very tasty wine. Not overly complex but outright delicious. Would be a crowd pleaser for sure. Shockingly approachable despite its youth.

February 25, 2022 - The quality and craft here are clear, but ultimately this didn't hit that extra gear of excitement. Decanted 1 hour, consumed over several.
Black cherry and raspberry, coffee, desert dust and dry brush aromas. Ripe and more extracted than average, chewy and enveloping. Nice beam of acidity drives through on the finish. Soft, short-chain tannins: high quantity, but also high quality. Alcohol shows on the finish intermittently. High end oak lends some chocolate and coffee notes, broadens the mid-palate, but well integrated without overt vanillin or coconut notes.
Ultimately, felt like a California take on Sangiovese. Fruit isn't overtly overripe, but it pushes the envelope. That said, there is varietal character and plenty of stuffing for this to evolve 10+ years.
