  • 2009 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

Beautiful and luxurious bouquet with dark berries and good oak. On the palate dark berries, dark chocolate, beautiful acidity, powerful and round tannin. Overall a very luxurious wine which is still hiding all its beauty. On the other hand you can imagine all the potential. For tonight 96 and with an upward potential of several points over the next decade (or more). Wish I had a case…. 96++

  • 2009 Château La Mission Haut-Brion Flawed

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

What an extremely sad story this is. Dark berries and celery in the bouquet. On the palate the same impressions, soy and chocolate. The only explanation I have is that must be a very seriously mistreated bottle. E.g. In the shop window with direct sunlight for a long time. What an extreme pity for this outrageous expensive bottle.

  • 2015 Domaine de l'A 90 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

Still a lactic and primary wine with creamy dark berries like blackberries and black currants. On the palate beautifully round tannin, some coffee, chocolate, good acidity and still sticky tannin. Too young now. Try around 2024. For now 90+.

  • 2009 Château Montrose 97 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

Concentrated bouquet with dark berries, coffee, chocolate, toast and cedar. On the palate a mouth full of youthful and concentrated wine with a lot of dark berries, chocolate and sticky tannin. Still much too young, but a great future ahead. I will probably open my first bottle not before 2025. For tonight 97++

  • 1998 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Ripe red and dark berry fruits in the bouquet. On the palate red and dark berries, a lot of sweetness, mild tannin, sweet soy and mild tannin. Although this bottle was quite mature, imho the wine was still a pleasure and very drinkable.
