  Clear, ruby red, slight bricking to the edge, lots of sediment. Clean nose, very peppery, cloves, leather, violet?, but dark fruit still present, particularly blackcurrant. Medium palate, tannins still noticeable but quite nicely integrated, medium finish. Perfect accompaniment to our Christmas lunch. Drinking beautifully now, can keep, but no point waiting longer.

  Wine Education Service - Northern Rhône (LSE): Just opaque and showing age.
  Vanilla nose, sweet, complex, vegetal notes, very attractive with lots of fruit.
  Fruity, lovely balance, full flavoured, sweet and savoury mid palate, very long.

  15th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Chez Lyon in Eugene, OR): A floral note on the nose made it stand out as different than the other 34 wines. More red than black fruit w/ some pepper and sangre de toro. 90pts on day 2.
