Wednesday, October 12, 2022 - The '17 Grinzane Cavour is enjoyable, but seems fairly rustic and I think should be consumed in the near to medium term.

On the nose, I found black cherry, sweet spices / balsamic / touch of VA, licorice, and bitter orange peel. The aromatics are rustic / a touch funky, and the profile is nice, but seemingly a bit advanced for such a young wine. On the palate, I found the wine to be medium to light in body, with sweet spices, licorice, and dried black cherry. The tannins are fairly minimal and the wine drinks with ease, but there's a bit of a graininess to what tannin is there.
