Friday, January 5, 2024 - Inky purple black core. Explosive bouquet right out of bottle at 19 years old. Very little bricking. Blind I would’ve said 2015 based on looks. Palate was generously fruit forward with black currant, dark plum and black cherry. All ripe and sweet. Beguiling with a medium body juxtaposed against the dark core. Smooth as silk and more tertiary flavors mid palate. Mink oil and mocha tinged coffee. Really amazing I have always liked Las Combes but haven’t had it in years. Well worth the return. Only nick on the score was finish was abbreviated, but I will give it a chance to sit out and see if that that changes. Highly recommended.
