Sunday, September 5, 2010 - Dark burnt orange color. Immediately open nose of marzipan, apricot, pineapple, honey, and those pears in heavy syrup you get in the can. Huge blast of honeyed fruits, an endless kaleidoscope that I can't put into words. It was rich and sweet but had such great balance because of the massive acids that penetrated deep and the wine seemed almost weightless because of it. A finish that went on endlessly and left you breathlessly staring at the glass. I drank this without any dessert or cheese, who needed it? Holy mackeral! Drink now and for the next 30 years.
