With the spicy Asian noodle dish the acids cut straight through and complemented both the wine and noodles. It was also well matched against the corn salad and cucumbers with onions. In short, just the occasion for this CA Rose. I usually go for Spanish pinks or sometimes Provence but I'll change my habits for this one. I'm rating this wine a 92 on its own merits...I won't compare it to a 1997 Cali Cab that I paid $100 and have stored for more than a decade. In the right situation, it's just a better match for the food and circumstance.
