2005 Château L'Evangile

100 Points

Monday, February 1, 2016 - Decanted for two hours. A crystal rim and a garnet core. Olive tapenade, red lava, cherry capote, warm leather, salty mineral and fresh rose petals. Extremely long, layered and velvety, with tannin of the same ilk. Ostensibly refined and the quintessential Pomerol: I can not praise this goddess enough. The secondary nuances are at a nascent stage; 100 points is the rubric. I would write that I am speechless, yet evidently I am not. Decant or wait a couple of years...or fifty. Drink 2018 -.

    Cheers!

A two hour decant will work well. There's no rush, as this will last for many, many years to come...
