Thursday, December 15, 2016 - Aged Rousseau dinner at Les Amis. A marvelous aged white Burg. Deep gold, bordering amber in color. Such an intense nose of spice, ginger, wet stone, vanilla cream and truffle. This was undoubtedly mature, with a hint of peach and mango, but generally the profile was secondary. Good acidity on the palate, and this wine held up brilliantly over 3 hours. Spiced ginger, cinnamon, coconut, crème brulee, toffee, cashews. Right at the end, a subtle touch of chocolate mint. This was such an impressive wine!
