Saturday, March 31, 2018 - We wanted to get a benchmark of this young cab. On the open, it was tannic and a bit "rough around the edges". After about 40 minutes of air, it started to open, and kept evolving for about 3 hours. After it had opened, it was spectacular for a young cab. It had a very different nose and flavor profile from a Napa cab. The nose was violet flowers and the flavor profile was blue and black fruits with a notable roasted plum flavor that coated the palate (after being exposed to air for 3 hours). Lush and viscous were other sensory characteristics on the back palate. Very unique wine. We are not touching the other 2015 QC CVR's we have for a few years.
