Wednesday, February 27, 2019 - 1 of only 1 for me here (do have a couple '07s), and it's drinking aged but well at this time. Still a dense ruby color to it. Aromas of black and blue fruits, maybe some dark red as well, licorice, graphite, balsamic, dark chocolate, walnut, eucalyptus, and damp earth. Medium body, medium (+) acid and finish, with flavors of dark fruits, fairly strong minerality, balsamic, and drying leather/black tea on the back end. Has a real Bordeaux vibe. Wasn't exactly sure how to pair the Tuscan balsamic sausage and grapes recipe we tried out tonight, but it worked well; otherwise I'd say steak and red meat dishes would be the call here. 90+
