Saturday, March 9, 2019 - Popped and poured as a Saturday afternoon sipper.
Pretty crimson color, somewhat turbid. Not super bright.
Nose of menthol, bay leaf, cherries, and almost a ferrous quality.
On palate, wine is sound, medium acidity, low tannins, short finish. Fruit is fleeting. Pleasant but not that interesting to me.
I continue to be puzzled by the love that these wines get on certain message boards. Maybe I'm just missing it, but I have to be true to my own tastes. I guess James Laube and I should get together for drinks sometime.
