Tuesday, May 14, 2019 - My first encounter with this winemaker. While at first it seemed to be just a good Chianti with the fresh cherry/berry character and some spicy notes it turned into something more exciting after a few hours.

There still is the fresh cherry and some red berries but now supported by boxwood, dried herbs and some smokey hints. In particular the wide spectrum between the fresh berries and the dark, smokey, undertones make this an exciting wine. On the palate it gives some medium-full body with fresh acidity and dusty-smooth tannins. The finish is also much longer and developped after a few hours.
This wine has the structure to last for a long time but it is very enjoyable now if you give it a few hours to develop.
