Saturday, September 7, 2019 - Nice Brunello - pretty classic at first but became a little modern over time. Nice tannins, robust flavor, but a little lean on the finish. Popped and poured; consumed half immediately and half 24 hours later.

The first evening it seemed much more classic in profile and then the second evening it seemed [surprisingly] much more modern - bigger and hotter, even. I haven't tasted the 2001 you reference so I can't comment on similarities . . . YET!
