Friday, January 24, 2020 - Decanted 2,5 hours. Still pretty young (as expected). I guess this needs at least 5-7 years more in the cellar. 93(-) pts. at the moment.

4/8/2022 12:02:00 AM - Hi gteran76, thanks for your comment. I never thought about it that way before. My rating always reflects the current state (without potential). When I write "+" or "-" I mean that the rating is slightly higher or slightly lower than the score described. It's probably because I have many wines in a similar score range (for finer division). Sorry that wasn't clear. In any case, the Clos Erasmus still has a long life ahead of it and is more likely to get better.

4/8/2022 11:59:00 AM - Hi there, thanks for the extra details. I have 3 bottles in my cellar and I'm wondering whether or not to crack open one early... We'll see… In reference to the scoring system, that works for you and I get the idea, I was referring to how the "professionals intended it". If they wanted to make a difference from 93 and 94 they could put 93.5, so the + and - are a reflection of where the wine is “going”.

7/10/2022 7:58:00 AM - Hi there! I read your review again because I’m craving to open the first of my 3 bottles. Anyways, I have an idea in regards to the scoring debate we had a while ago. What about you changing the score to 92+?
That way it will reflect your opinion of being between 92-93 and potential to improve in the future…
