Sunday, March 22, 2020 - Very clean, perplexingly so. So clean, in fact, that it showed California-like sarsaparilla, typical of Rhone varieties and mixed blacks (including Zinfandel) grown there. If blind, I would have likely guessed Tablas Creek - Esprit de Tablas. Wow! Interesting! Also noteworthy, quite an elegant vintage of this offering, featuring more poise than power. For this reason, long-term aging seems questionable. It should evolve for another five to seven years, and hold form for a few more thereafter. Very pretty. 94-95.
