Friday, April 17, 2020 - Mix of 2011-2016 in a perpetual Solera process. Mostly chardonnay with some Pinot Noir. 4000 bottles
Pours Medium Gold
Nose is really open and expressive. Orange rind, white flowers, pu-erh tea, ginger, sweet spice, green mango, and wet stone.
Palate has lovely tension...there are rich flavours of mango cream, green apple, flowers, spice, white grapefruit and orange zest but cut by wonderful acid....the tension in this champagne is really striking.
Finish is really complex and quite unique...the interplay between the clear lack of dosage and rich creamy fruit is beguiling. This is wine with bubbles...quite cerebral...but very nice. For champagne lovers who want some thing a touch different.
