Saturday, May 9, 2020 - Decanted for about four hours and followed over an additional two. Deep garnet red core with some bricking at the rim. The aromas are powerful and earth driven with notes of pencil shavings, currant leaf, cigar box, violets, and creme de cassis. The palate shows similar earthy brilliance with great balance between the supple tannins, restrained fruit density, and crisp acidity. This is drinking beautifully with complex character wafting out of the glass. I have to say this is in beautiful spot and should continue to drink well over the next five to ten years.
