Saturday, May 9, 2020 - Rich, full throttle Cabernet. Pronounced notes of blueberry pie filling and some lovely woody nose notes. This will improve over the next few years for sure, but already tasty with a proper decant. Only negative on this was some heat. It is a bit boozy but that is not a major detractor.
Decanted 4 hours at cellar temp and served at cellar temp. Saved one glass for the next day and the notes are consistent. A but smoother on day 2.
Lovely juice. Very impressed with the full range of wines I've tried from winemaker Kaplan.

5/10/2020 10:19:00 PM - It is tasty juice for sure! Was just at my wine storage today dropping off some goodies and saw my stash of this. I came VERY close to grabbing one to take home but am trying to see what this beauty tastes likes with some slumber on it.
Sam + Oakville = a Killer Wine
On another note, I really do need to get more of this, plus some of the 14’s...

5/10/2020 10:34:00 PM - Nice note! I had the 2015 face off against the 2016- I thought the 2015 is ready to go today while the 2016 is built to last and needs a bit of time due to the higher acid profile. Both are really well made but comes off as two different styles. Hummers.
