Last bottle in collection. Decanted in bottle for 20mins.
Colour is still strong and deep claret; not much legs. Nose has a hint of fruit. First mouthful delivered a balanced and well made wine. It is medium to slightly full-bodied and the finish drags to entice another mouthful. Patience paid off handsomely, we worry the cellar time.

Though these wines increased in balance I find that the increased balance do not sufficiently make up for the loss of youthful vigour which I savour. The best ratio for enjoyment, for me at least, appears to be between 8-11 years.

I have friends who only love their Napa cabs youthful and exploding with fruit and others who only want reduced wines with no single overpowering element. The same applies to us BDX drinkers, too. Drink them when YOU personally like them, not when Parker or some other snob on here, like me, lol, tells you too! My personal sweet spot for some wines is in their secondary phase and not those final tertiary years when everything goes to raisins or prunes. Drink what you like when you like and ignore those who say "you must.....". Cheers! Mark

My Coravin is a wonderful tool for seeing "How we are doing!"

I find however that I usually must return and finish the bottle without too much time passing. I've lost a few bottles to slow ox even when using the small vintage needle.
