Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, February 22, 2022 - Purchased on release, and our last bottle, this vintage is very nostalgic for me, as it was my first LLC I ever tasted and purchased way back when and i remember it being a lovely midweight wine soon after release, and it remains such a lovely midweight wine to this day, although the complexity is much greater aromatically than back in the day. Really hard to describe, but what was once dark juicy fruits with hints of cedar is now run through with all sorts of myriad foresty scents. Some would find this a little thin or dried out, but I really enjoyed it, and especially with our meal ("Hunter's Chicken"). I always love it when wines can instantly transport me back to earlier times in my life, while simultaneously anchoring me in the present moment with such captivating aromas and tastes. That is the true magic of wine for me. (As a side note, I have always preferred this over the much more highly touted 96 vintage of LLC, so take my rating with a grain of salt ...)
