Does not like this wine:

77 Points

Sunday, May 1, 2022 - Story goes, that 30 years ago 19 growers made a collective to attempt to improve the wine from this region – their rep for ‘bulk wine’ being well known. Now, the group has over 3000 members & this wine tastes bulk like yet again.

The color is suspect here and the nose emits over-baked fruit & spice - but a weird aroma of dill pickles.

Big, jammy, & rustic on the palate, with elevated alcohol, chewy tannins, and a cloying sweet, almost syrupy finish. Might be happy to have this handed to me at a large BBQ, but could not finish the bottle here.

Luca Maroni gave it 99 points? Perhaps…if the scale went to 114.

The special bottles are heavy, and so black that one can hardly tell how much nectar is left. I hate thinking one spent more for the bottle than the wine. Faulted bottle maybe...but not my 'cuppa.
