Sunday, October 2, 2022 - This was exactly what it should have been and it was stunning. Wines of War dinner with 10 1941-1945 wines. This Monfortino had by far the best nose - classic barolo. Umami, earth, light spice, hints of leather. Shocking how vibrant the nose was. On the palate this was very light and delicate yet at the same time was not thin or clipped. The color was the lightest red you can imagine yet that did not signal what the wine would smell or taste like. This was very well put together and a pure joy to drink. 94+
