Saturday, October 15, 2022 - Checked in on this in a random grab from the cellar on a Friday - wondering if its worth starting to dip into the 2005's. At first pretty waxy/oaky, but little tannic bite, fruit muted as expected. After several hours in the decanter, it was nice with dark fruits and smooth finish. Again tannins are reasonably mild. Still needs time to integrate the oak influence which is a bit much and hopefully will fade. I will hold the remaining 9 bottles in my case for several years. I find the 2001 to be in a much better place for current drinking
