Friday, August 24, 2012 - Big Bottle Festival (Cellars Hohenort): A big, bold wine with plenty of oak, ripe stone fruits and broad shoulders. Almost opulent, the mid-palate is fleshy and intense, with a richness of creme fraiche richness, a lot of apricots and yellow peach, and a long finish. However, the oak is rather omnipresent with some phenolic edges and whilst there is a vibrant acid, it feels a little over the top lacking elegance.
