Saturday, December 24, 2022 - Was expecting a leaner profile for this wine as the base year was 2011, though upon opening, this wine was rich and round with fruits leaning more towards pear and apple; citrus nowhere to be found; with a whiff of smoke on the nose. Drank over a few hours and the wine did start to lean out and shed some of its heft towards the end. This bottle surprised to the upside.
