Saturday, April 25, 2009 - Really opened up after about 90 minutes in the decanter. A deep, dark purple in the glass. Very expressive nose with a bit of barnyard funk, black fruit and smoke. Rich plum, cassis and a meaty element keep evolving through the midpalate and long finish highlighted by fine, prickly tannins. Very complex with many, many layers and tremendous balance. I am glad I have one more, as it will most definitely benefit from a few years in bottle.
