92 Points

Monday, January 16, 2006 - During the awards season (Golden Globes & Oscars) we generally open up a good bottle (or three) and watch the show. Tonight we opened the 94 Mouton and its a deep maroon in color with a little hint of orange splashing around the rim. Great aromatics. Sweet blackberries and dark plums and cherries hit the nose with a little bit of earthy stewed fruit. Those black cherries you smell are well represented in the taste blend that coats the mouth with currants, perfumed fruit, tobacco, roasted coffee and a bit of minerality. There is still a lot of life left in this wine, but it is drinking well right now.
