This shows a ton of earth on the nose. Pencil shavings, cigar box, dried fruit, and wet soil.
Med- body, med acid, med tannin.
This is decently balanced but slightly thin for the tannin.
All in all, still a great wine from a tough year. Good now and likely not going to get much better.

Need time for decanting for better showing. Initially the nose is closed. After 1 hour in the glass, notes of black fruits, toast, violet, forest floor, leather. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is soft and fine. Will not improve further. Drink up.

Decanted immediately, needed around 60 minutes to start resolving a bit of a harsh mid-palate and then singing beautifully around 90 minutes. Fun to watch evolve.
On the nose - leather, cigar box, stewed fruit, barnyard, classic old Bordeaux depth.
On the palate - started a bit muted with rough texture but then opened up with some deep black fruit, bright cherry, fresh acid.

Le vin n'est pas déviant il est simplement inintéressant. Typique du millésime 94 qui pour moi donne des vins sans fruits, vert et dure. Ce Mouton ne fait pas exception, un vin de structure sans fruit et peu complexe. Sur les 24 millésimes de Mouton dégusté, celui si est le pire.
