Friday, April 14, 2023 - Ordered from a restaurant's wine list, this was uncorked, poured and serially tasted over a 2-3 hour window. Medium-to-deep ruby in color, it fully opens after the first hour to reveal an aromatic profile of Bing cherries, red currants, orange zest, pickling spice, iron and violets. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic, proportionately oaked and without noticeable alcohol (listed as 13.5%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, wrapping them with plentiful edgy tannins. Dense in the middle and medium-length on the back end, this is a solid red Burgundy that will likely merit a higher score once its tannins have fully integrated. Drink 2026-2038.
