Ordered from a restaurant's wine list, this was uncorked, poured and serially tasted over a 2-3 hour window. Medium-to-deep ruby in color, it fully opens after the first hour to reveal an aromatic profile of Bing cherries, red currants, orange zest, pickling spice, iron and violets. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic, proportionately oaked and without noticeable alcohol (listed as 13.5%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, wrapping them with plentiful edgy tannins. Dense in the middle and medium-length on the back end, this is a solid red Burgundy that will likely merit a higher score once its tannins have fully integrated. Drink 2026-2038.

Elegantly perfumed nose, red fruits, licorice, a little lemon pledge, silky, soft, good lift in the finish. Appealing, lacking some structure, but fairly good now. This didn't wow me but will be a solid drinker in the shorter term I think. Give it 2-5+ years.Monopole

2018 Bouchard Tasting (Off-Premise, Chicago, IL): Nose: The nose is pungent and upfront with sour red cherries, raspberries, plums, brown spices, earth, and some savory herbs. There is good depth with the nose showing a fleshiness and sour red fruits.
Taste: The feel is medium bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. There is a plushness to the feel with sour red cherries, raspberries, plums, brown spices, earth, and savory herbs.
Overall: This was the most burgundy of the three reds that were tasted. This shows off riper red fruits with a touch of savory and earthy qualities that are very enjoyable.

Bouchard 2018 Tasting (Chicago, IL): Walk around tasting. A clear step up. Ripe start with an array of black berries on nose and palate, following by a tense, driving, even rugged finish. Also needs time to soften, 89-90+ point potential.

La Fête du Champagne Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Walkaround tasting with the producers. All red cherry, attractive on nose, more backward on palate. Good length. Very 2018, this will need cellar time.

Musique & Vin Pre-Concert Dégustation (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Walk around tasting. Rich black fruit, lots here, but firm and barely giving from middle forward. Patience, 89-90 point potential.

PnP in restaurant and ready in glass after 30 min. Loads of fruit and full body. Simple wine and strong enough to accompany with Spanish cuisine

Expressive red fruit. Very good depth and focus. Intense, but fine tannins.
